FAQs About Us

TechnoFlex Suspension 2008 - M1 Custom Built Emulsion Shock

Motorcycle shocks and fork springs for over 1000 models of bike

Current Models Classics

TechnoFlex suspension has been a manufacturer of high-quality shock absorbers since 1989.

Built by engineers and assembly staff with more than 30 years experience in the field of suspension.

TechnoFlex shocks are entirely developed, manufactured and quality controlled in their own facility.

TechnoFlex has an excellent reputation with all riders who have experienced the products. They are known to be a thorough and trustworthy service oriented partner in the area of high-quality shock absorber systems, front fork springs and specialized suspension oil.

Emulsion design (2 way adjustable shock)

An emulsion design shock has specialized suspension oil under pressure with nitrogen gas. The oil and gas are housed in the same valving chamber (the shock body) and during use the oil and gas will mix producing an emulsion.

Materials

The shock body is manufactured of high quality temperature stable, durable seamless precision tube.

The shock shaft is from 42CrMo4. All other shock elements are made of aluminium alloys 7075 and 6082, milled or twisted.

The 16 mm shaft bearing is self-aligning with teflon lined aluminium conductance components.

Valve pistons in three implementations depending on the rider specified use.

Spring

Progressive rate spring matched to rider weight, bike weight and riding style (type of use).

Continuously adjustable spring preload to match specific rider parameters.

Control & Development

All shocks are hand built by specialized technicians.

All shocks are 100% dyno tested prior to shipment.

Options available

Ride height adjuster offers up to 10 mm of extension.

Hydraulic spring preload tensioner offers up to 10 mm of preload.

Custom static length (longer or shorter).

Custom shaft stroke (longer or shorter).

Suspension system user adjustments

Rebound damping adjustment - 50 clicks (+/- 25 clicks from center position).

Continuously adjustable spring preload.

Advantages

Substantial step up over all OEM shocks and any aftermarket production-built shock. Offers excellent value to cost conscious riders looking for more safety and pleasure on every ride. Model offers the most useful rider adjustments (spring preload and rebound damping).

Disadvantages

Virtually all OEM and most aftermarket shocks are either oil only or emulsion designs. Disadvantages compared to OEM or other aftermarket production shocks - NONE.

Mixing of the oil and gas in the emulsion chamber precludes the use of user adjustable compression damping. Compression damping is set at the factory to match rider weight, bike weight and riding style.

Step up

To allow for user adjustable compression damping the oil and gas must be kept separated (DeCarbon design). This requires a reservoir either attached by a hose or as a piggyback. See our models M2, M3, M4 and M5.
